As we overcome self-sabotage, it is normal to feel unsteady - like a freshly bloomed Rose facing the elements. Yet resilience, like strong roots, keeps us grounded and thriving, helping us rise above challenges and stay aligned with our goals.

With Emotional Freedom Techniques (Tapping), you can nurture resilience and continue growing, even after letting go of old patterns. Ready to root yourself in strength? Let’s dive in! 🌹

Why Resilience Matters After Self-Sabotage

Overcoming self-sabotage is a powerful step, yet old triggers may still arise. Resilience isn’t about avoiding challenges—it is about staying steady and bouncing back stronger. It keeps us grounded, compassionate and focused on growth, even in uncertain moments.

EFT is a powerful tool for building resilience, helping to clear emotional blocks and reinforce your inner strength. Each tap strengthens your commitment to growth and wellness. Here are tapping sequences to nurture your resilience and keep your journey blooming. 🌹

Tapping Sequence #1: Staying Steady in the Face of Setbacks

Before we start, take a moment to centre yourself. Notice any worries about failure—it is natural to feel this way. Together, we will gently process these feelings. How do you feel about pursuing your goals free from fear?

Ask yourself:

  1. Where do I feel worry or apprehension in my body right now?

o Take a moment to notice any physical sensations—tightness in your chest, butterflies in your stomach, tension in your shoulders, etc.

  2. What emotions or thoughts hold me back from feeling confident and fearless in pursuing my goals?

o Reflect on any limiting beliefs or past experiences that contribute to your fear of failure.

  3. On a standard 0-to-10 Subjective Units of Distress (SUD) scale, where 1 represents feeling completely at ease and 10 represents feeling highly tense, where would you place yourself?

o Take note of this number; it will be helpful to revisit it after the tapping.

Setup Statements: Repeat the three setup statements while tapping on the Side of the Hand (SOH) point:

  1. "Even though I sometimes worry that I might fall back into old patterns, I choose to trust in my resilience and accept myself fully."

  2. "Even though I worry that if I try, I might fail, I am open to the possibility of learning from every experience."

  3. "Even though the fear of failure can feel overwhelming, I choose to trust myself and believe in my capacity for growth."

Tapping Points

Begin tapping through the following acupoints while saying the associated phrases.

  1. Top of Head (TOH): "I feel the weight of these old patterns still lingering, trying to creep back in."

Located directly on the crown of the head.

  1. Eyebrow (EB): "What if I slip back into self-sabotage?"

Located at the start of the eyebrow, near the bridge of the nose.

  2. Side of Eye (SE): "I have worked so hard but I still feel the pull of the past."

Located on the bone at the outer corner of the eye.

  3. Under Eye (UE): "Part of me doubts my ability to stay strong and keep moving forward."

Located on the bone directly under the eye.

  4. Under Nose (UN): "I know I am capable of change and resilience is within me."

Located between the nose and upper lip.

  5. Chin (CH): "I am stronger and more powerful than my old patterns."

Located in the crease between the lower lip and chin.

  6. Collarbone (CB): "I trust my inner strength to guide me and to rise above setbacks."

Located just below the collarbone, about 2.5 cm (1 inch) from the base of the throat.

  7. Under Arm (UA): "I am steady, resilient and ready to embrace new possibilities."

Located on the side of the body, about 10 cm (4 inches) below the armpit.

Take a deep breath after completing the tapping sequence, check in with yourself and notice how the weight of potential setbacks may have shifted.

Repeat the tapping round as needed until you feel a shift. Check your initial score: has it decreased, stayed the same, or increased? A lower score shows you 1re releasing tension. If unchanged, keep tapping until you notice a difference.

Tapping Sequence #2: Embracing Self-Compassion

Resilience thrives on self-compassion, not self-criticism. This sequence helps release self-judgment, fostering kindness and support as you grow.

Setup Statements:

  1. "Even though I sometimes feel unworthy of success and happiness, I choose to acknowledge these feelings and release the need to carry them forward."

  2. "Even though I often doubt my worth and hold myself back, I honour these feelings and open up to the truth of my inherent value."

  3. "Even though feelings of unworthiness have weighed me down, I am willing to see myself in a new light and let go of these limiting beliefs."

Tapping Points

Begin tapping through the following acupoints while saying the associated phrases.

Located directly on the crown of the head.

  2. Eyebrow (EB): "These self-critical thoughts have weighed me down and kept me stuck."

  4. Under Eye (UE): "I carry the burden of past mistakes, thinking they define my worth."

Located on the bone directly under the eye.

  5. Under Nose (UN): "What if I could offer myself the kindness I give to others?"

Take a deep breath after completing the tapping sequence.

After this round, check your initial score. Have feelings of unworthiness lessened? If not, keep tapping until you notice a shift.

This sequence will help you trust in the path you are creating, reinforcing your confidence in your journey beyond self-sabotage.

  1. "Even though I feel resistance to change and worry about what it might bring, I accept myself and choose to release this resistance."

  2. "Even though change feels uncomfortable and I am afraid of stepping out of my comfort zone, I honour these feelings and gently open myself to new possibilities."

Revisit Your Score

Now, let us check in again:
